Senior IT Engineer - Los Angeles

Responsibilities:

  • Installation, support, and administration of Windows servers and server-based applications, as well as installation, support, and administration of Apple desktop and laptop systems running OS X (Leopard and Snow Leopard) in a corporate environment
  • Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks and operating and system management systems; escalating application problems to vendor.
  • Secures system by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; completing back-ups; maintaining documentation.
  • Supports end users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
  • Coordinates and participates in administrative activities and handles projects as needed.
  • Participates in the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating and system management systems; defining system and operational policies and procedures.
  • Leads, trains and supports the work of other staff performing similar functions
  • Provides end-user support  as needed to company staff and external contacts.

 Required: 

  • Seven years experience implementing and supporting Mac OS X and Macintosh-based applications in a corporate environment
  • Seven years experience with Windows 2000/2003 server environments (physical and virtual), with an emphasis on Active Directory.
  • Strong background in Exchange 2000/2003/2007 messaging system and MOSS (SharePoint) 2007
  • Advanced hardware & software troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience setting up and managing database systems such as SQL Server.
  • Working knowledge of protocols, and standards, including TCP-IP.
  • Solid understanding of internet applications and its workflow technology.
  • Excellent problem solving, collaboration and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and is a team player with the ability to work well independently. •Associate degree in the field of computer science or information systems or 8 years related work experience.
 Desired:
  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in a related field.
  • Basic Windows scripting and automation skills. 
  • Background supporting telephone systems such as Nortel BCM.
  • Experience supporting LAN/WAN configurations, to include with Cisco routers & switches, Internet firewalls, and wireless technology. 
  • Experience with Scrum, Lean or Agile product development.
  • Experience working in a matrix and in team-oriented, collaborative environment.
